I’m beyond grateful to be featured in Bold Journey, where I had the opportunity to share my experiences of navigating spaces where no one else is like me. As someone who is Deaf, Black, and a woman in multiple industries—advocacy, education, business, and audiology—I’ve often found myself in rooms where representation is scarce. Yet, I’ve learned that effectiveness isn’t about blending in; it’s about standing firm in who you are and making an impact despite the odds.

In the article, I discussed the challenges of being the only one in certain spaces and how I turn those moments into opportunities. Whether through my business, Drizzle and Deaf, my advocacy for the Deaf community, or my journey in audiology, I’ve always believed that true change happens when we show up authentically and create space for others to do the same.
This feature means so much because it amplifies a message that’s at the core of everything I do: You don’t have to fit the mold to be effective. You just have to be you.
